Marine Electrical Systems Course – Starting Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Libertyville HS

It may sound shocking, but a course in marine electrical systems might actually save you from being zapped! Plus, it could very well save your boat because around 60% of all boat fires can be traced to problems with their electrical systems.

America’s Boating Club in Waukegan offers an informative Marine Electrical Systems course for boaters that is very hands-on. You will learn about electrical wiring practices and diagrams, direct and alternating current, battery types, chargers, galvanic corrosion and stray current, and lightning protection, among others.

Upon successful completion of the course, you should feel comfortable understanding, diagnosing, and troubleshooting the various electrical issues that can arise with boat ownership.

The eight-session course will be held Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Libertyville High School. It starts on February 15, 2022 and ends on April 5 with a final exam. The course is $75 for America’s Boating Club members or $105 for non-members. You will also receive a detailed marine electrical systems manual.

There’s no better time than the present to enroll in this course to become a smarter, better and safer boater! We look forward to seeing you in class.

To register, go to www.wspsboating.org, then select the Class Schedule link on our home page to find course and registration information.
