MARQUETTE — Northern Center for Lifelong Learning offers the opportunity to spend the evening on the Escanaba River near Cornell to learn how to start fly fishing.

Superior Outfitters provides all gear unless the participant wishes their own. The group will learn fly casting, begin information on reading rivers, using flies to catch various species of fish, how to set up a fishing rod and many other things.

Bring questions and Nick Simon will be both willing and able to answer them all. It’s your chance to have the best time of your life learning a new lifelong skill in the great outdoors. Bring insect repellent. Directions to the venue will be emailed to attendees prior to the event if they choose to drive independently.

This workshop is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 on the Escanaba River by Cornell. Meet at Tadych’s Marketplace parking lot for carpooling. The cost is $3 for each NCLL member and $10 for non-members. The additional cost of the project is $10 for supplies paid to Nick Simon.

A Michigan fishing license is required. For more information, contact: Ginger Bollero-Petry, 906-228-8051, [email protected] or Darlene Arseneau, 906-486-9861, [email protected]

Cancellation deadline is Thursday
